With the winds and rain hitting the country hard it is time for Therapeutics next newsletter.

Firstly thank you to everyone who bought, made and ate cakes here at Therapeutics over the summer months! This was a fund-raising project for the Mary Rose Academy in Portsmouth which is an outstanding special sports school for children aged 4 – 19 with complex special needs. We raised over £120 and the money will go towards either updating part of the playground and the nursery play equipment or towards a bigger pot for replacing an old minibus.

Osteopathy Service

Our osteopathy service run by Graham Flowers here at Therapeutics is still relatively new to the clinic. But with Back awareness week approaching and many of us suffering with aches and pains in our backs as a consequence of our daily lives it might be worth considering if it can help you. Osteopathy uses predominantly manipulation techniques on the joints but also works to increase mobility in the body. It is particularly useful in treating neck, back and pelvic pain. It can also help with postural problems caused through work or driving. To book an appointment with Graham Flowers or to find out more information please call reception on 02380 653707.

Training for an event?

Whether you are training for an event such as the sport relief mile in March or something as gruelling as the London Marathon in April we can provide help with anything from tired legs to major injury. Our sports injury team of physiotherapists are here to diagnose and help rehab you back to tip top condition, whilst our experienced sports massage therapists can provide tired muscles with some much needed TLC.

Running Technique

We are very pleased to have welcomed the Running School to their new base here at Therapeutics. If you are a runner or walker and feel that you would benefit from a biomechanical assessment to identify strengths and weakness with your technique, why not book one of their 30 minute 1:1 sessions at a cost of £20. And finally……

Rob Edmondson one of our physiotherapists here in the clinic is abseiling 350feet down the Spinnaker tower in Portsmouth on Saturday 15th March 2014 for the stroke association charity. A wonderful charity that provides support to so many people including some of our patients here in the clinic. If you feel that you could spare a few pounds and would like to sponsor him click on the link below to visit his just giving page:
