With the days getting longer and the sun shining (a bit) it is now time for our next newsletter with all the up to date news from Therapeutics. The clinic has been really busy even with the snow.

Acupuncture Awareness Week

Next week 25th February to 3rd March 2013 it is Acupuncture Awareness Week. Acupuncture is an ancient practice of medicine which has been used to restore, promote and maintain good health for thousands of years. Originating in the Far East, acupuncture balances the flow of energy around the body to restore and maintain harmony which encourages healing. We are very fortunate to have Penny Shires who is a member of the British Acupuncture Council having qualified with a degree in Acupuncture, working here at Therapeutics. Penny has been a registered nurse for more than twenty years and has a real desire to treat the root cause of health issues. Gait Analysis and Biomechanics

Did you know that at Therapeutics we also offer gait analysis and biomechanical assessment as well as all our other services.

Our gait analysis service, run by Kim Waters and the physiotherapy and podiatry team, uses the state of the art Vicon Motion Capture System to analyse the internal biomechanics during walking and running of patients and athletes with a range of problems. This enables us to manage injuries as well allowing us to assess and enhance performance.

Have a look at the website to find out lots more information and see if it could be of benefit to you.

And Finally….

There are planned road works on the M27 between junctions 4 & 5. It looks like the eastbound carriageway of the M27 will be closed completely for 3 days on March 9th, 10th and 11th (sat, sun and mon). A diversion will be put in place guiding traffic along Bassett Green Road and Stoneham Way, for traffic wishing to travel east from the M3. Those travelling east along the M27 will have to travel north up the M3, before following the diversion.
Southampton City Council are expecting the road works and diversion to cause a lot of problems for motorists the 3 day period. We will of course put an update on the website nearer the time.
