Happy new year to everyone…..with Christmas well and truly over it is time for our January newsletter with all the latest news from the team here at Therapeutics.
As many of you will already be aware Kate Scott will be leaving us on 31st January. Kate lives in London and has found a clinic closer to home. We will really miss her and wish her lots of luck in her new job. Anne Hume will be offering appointments on a Tuesday to cover Kate.
Zoe who is one of the physiotherapists here in the clinic is starting a new beginners class on a Wednesday evening. This class is scheduled to start on Wednesday 8th February at 7.30pm.
Laura also has some spaces available on her Saturday morning beginners class 10am – 11am.
If you are interested in joining any of our pilates classes just call the reception team for more information or to book an induction.
With just 3 months to go until the London Marathon which many of our patients are training for, your training will really be stepping up now and it is really important whatever you are training for to stay injury free. Here are a few simple tips to help…
Footwear – the correct footwear is really important. Most running shoes last between 300 – 800 miles. Good quality shoes can protect your bones, muscles, joints and tendons during training
Stretching – running can cause your muscles to shorten and tighten, increasing the risk of muscle pulls and strains. So make sure you incorporate regular stretching and flexibility training to prevent these injuries.
Sports Massage – regular sports massage can give a real boost to your training. It can help prevent injury, help repair injured muscle tissue, boost your performance and keep you in good condition.
No matter what you are training for our team can help. Why not use our Physio express service for injuries or niggles less than 6 weeks old. This is a 15 minute appointment that costs £15. But you get appropriate advice to manage the problem and help you rehabilitate.
A big thank you from all the team for the lovely gifts that were given to us for Christmas.
